Happy Halloween!

The Pumpkin Dik family - Dad, Mom, Eli, & Silas.

When we were carving the pumpkins, Eli was watching Bryan carve the big daddy pumpkin and said, "Dad, God is sad because you made your pumpkin have a mean face!" And then Eli wanted his pumpkin to have a sad face.

Here is the group of neighbor kids that went trick-or-treating together: Eli, Will the power ranger, Silas, Savannah the turtle, and Tristan the construction worker.

Eli really had fun this year and enjoyed yelling, "trick-or-treat!"

Silas had a blast, too. He kept touching his head and saying, "I'm a doggie!" He carried his little pumpkin full of candy the whole time and was the kid to go up and knock on the door. Most of the time he said, "welcome" instead of "thank you" after he was given candy. Close enough!

Here is the pumpkin Eli picked from the pumpkin patch when he went on his school fieldtrip. He wrote his name on the pumpkin, and then Mom carved it out. Eli also wanted me to carve the planet Saturn next to his name--I did my best (it wasn't easy)!

Looks like you had a great Halloween! Dylan really likes the pictures of Eli the Firefighter. He has wanted a firefighter costume, but now he REALLY wants one just like Eli's! Nice job on carving Saturn too... I'm impressed!

Looks like you guys had a great time! I find Halloween more fun as a parent I think than as a kid. Wish we could trick or treat together!

We love the Halloween pictures! Cute costumes! Really cool pumpkins~we liked the story about Bryan's and Eli's pumpkins. Pretty perceptive on Eli's part. We were impressed with your Saturn, too, Amy! What fun! We're thankful for blogging so we can share in the fun long distance!

Eli,

I think that God was even sadder the year that Daddy carved a Saddam Hussein pumpkin. Although, I must say, it was pretty awesome - complete with singed pumpkin-flesh mustache and eyebrows! :)
