"Let the little children come unto Me..."

My baby boy is growing up! This past week Silas has decided he doesn't want to sit in his high chair anymore--he wants to sit in a normal chair like the rest of the family, but his little head barely rises above the table! He also gave up his pacifier that he was extremely attached to since birth (actually we lost it, and he was forced to, but he handled it so well we were shocked!). And the other night at dinner table, he said his first Bible verse. Bryan was quizzing Eli to see if he could remember his verse he said at Awana Club the week before. This is how it went:

Bryan: "Eli, can you remember your verse? Romans 3:23?"

Eli: (silence)

Bryan: (prompting) "All..."

Eli: (silence)

Silas: "...sinned!"

Bryan and Amy: "WHAT?? Did he just say--"

Silas: "All...sinned!"

The verse is "All have sinned..."-- but I guess he's taking things in when we don't even know he's paying attention. Eli's next verse for this week was "God is love." And so both of them were saying it together. It was pretty cute. And along those lines, Eli asked Jesus into his heart this week when he and Bryan were praying together before bed. He kept saying he loved Jesus and God. It is so thrilling to see my kids learn more about God!

Some of Eli's drawings on his Doodle-Pro (which he is constantly doodling on all day long!) The first one is a clown from a Baby Einstein video they like to watch about shapes. The picture below is a house with clouds and the solar system.

Love all the photos and chat on the blog!! It's so exciting to read about all the amazing things going on in your family...makes me so excited to start one of our own...hopefully baby Jack isn't put too much to shame by his amazingly brilliant cousins. I can just see him sloshing around with a bucket on his head while Silas relates his latest theory on predestination. ha ha Can't wait to see you all...wish I could come out to visit you all and give my little nephews hugs and smooches. They're just so darn CUTE!! The more you share online, the more I'll be bugging you to move back to Michigan! I guess I'll have plenty of time to kick around on the computer now that I'm on "pre-maternity" leave. With how big I'm getting, I think another posting is definitely due...within the next week, I promise! :) Hope you're all doing well and I LOVE YOU ALL. Have fun with grandma VG!

Out of the mouths of babes! It's amazing to me how much those little ones take in when we don't even realize it. That sure keeps us on our toes, doesn't it?! It must have been just precious to hear Silas come up with the Bible verse on his own! It is such a blessing to know that our grandsons are growing up learning about Jesus!

Eli, great job with your pictures! I love them! Will you draw one for me and sent it in the mail so I can put it up on the refrigerator? I would love that!

Silas...no high chair OR pacifier? You ARE growing up!

Nice pictures...I love you all!
